Baptism Sunday

A milestone declaration of faith

Are you ready to declare that you're a follower of Jesus? We baptize with water to follow Jesus' example and to obey His commands. (Mark 1:9; Mark 16:16 Matt 28:19-20) It's a symbol of Christ's burial and resurrection. Entering the water identifies us with Christ's death on the cross, His burial, and His resurrection from the dead.

"Having been buried with [Christ] in baptism, in which you were also raised with Him through faith in the powerful working of God, who raised Him from the dead." Col 2:12

Baptism does not make you a believer; it shows that you are one. It also connects us to "the body of Christ," His people on the earth. It brings a sense of being joined with other believers, not just an individual act of our own spiritual journey.

"You who were baptized into Christ have clothed yourselves with Christ." Galatians 3:27

Believers in the New Testament were baptized the same day they believed in Jesus. As soon as a person decides to follow Christ, they can be (and are encouraged to be) baptized. We pray this will help shed light on your decision to follow in the footsteps of Jesus.

If you would like to be baptized at our next baptism, we would love to celebrate with you!

Sunday, October 20th @ 9:15a & 11:00a
